Our Mission

The Encouragement Network’s (TEN) mission is to support the local community and campus mental health. Our main program is sending encouraging text messages to those in need. Anyone can fill out our form, providing their name (optional), contact information and additional information for a personalized message. Our service aims to build an encouraging support system for all participants in our program. Those interested in becoming a volunteer for our program can reach out to our network to begin the interview process.

In addition to our messaging system, we aim to build a strong social community on campus. We host various events, with a majority of them providing opportunities for students to meet with their fellow peers and connect. 

TEN does not provide licensed psychological services such as therapy, counseling and advice. All campus chapters are expected to partner with their campuses respective psychological services to develop protocols for redirecting those in need to appropriate services. TEN will also work to promote campus psychological services to bring awareness to resources available on campus and to potentially reach those in need.
